John McCain will be the next president of the United States.
It will suck.
Projecting the image of the square-jawed military hero and the courageous Christian mother, McCain-Palin will usher in a golden age of horrific rightwing values. Americans will revere them even as their own lives get genuinely worse and will join them in blaming gays, abortions, pot, and blowjobs for the state of the nation.
It will suck.

You forgot to mention blacks and Mexi-can'ts as part of the problem.
On a serious note, people get irritated when I put forth the same prediction. Not sure why. It's not like I doubt humanity any less, it's just that the political system is fucked. Simple as that.
I'm hesitant to make a prediction. I think there are two powerful forces in american politics at odds in this situation; the republican narrative you've pointed out (with a healthy dose of racism) and the simple fact that the prettier, more charismatic candidate usually wins. I think a surprising number of people are going to vote based on nothing more than a mental image they caught on the TV one time.
